METRO NY

INDYPENDENT

VILLAGE VOICE

...and below is our AUDIO play-by-play from the day, with LINX to all the DJ sets livesets and speeches! (recorded live and uploaded courtesy LowKey at AcidGrave - THANX!)

first up was Flavorpill honcho SASCHA who surpirsed us with a nice introduction of protest classix..........

....followed by DJ BALLS aka The Eye aka big cheese at Disorient, who REALLY surprised us with a Psi-Trance set! Chrome coulda told me who it was : ) - -we love Pierre and all that he does! Bring it beach style if ya like !! (and if yer bringing your own 6 k of sound, then yer bringin it! )

...next was a tag team from Blackkat/Renegade Virus/NYC mainstays MADARO n AMOK ...the latest Waxworks freetekno and network cuts, available nowhere here except Ralphie's house!---

---CHROME takes a break from BIODIESEL distro and steps in for his first of two, no three times at bat---breaks to house to jungle in a heartbeat ...

---and JASON BK in a quicker heartbeat! noise breaks and maxitek 130-150

---up and on the bass bin was MISSY GALORE representing DANCE PARADE NYC MAY 19th---this event is not to be missed, we will be there with a truck sound and crew!!!

..into the first live old skool gear set with our old friend COLLIN STRANGE? (with a cameo by Chrome!)-even though he had one sampler lost iby the airline (he flew in from Seattle just for this gig!), and they searched his stuff and erased his memory (took out batteries)--he still pulled off some lovely and raw hard pure acid ---

--and then our special guests of the day, the ATOMIC BABIES, driving from Philly that morning in their nonstop tour schedule to bring it down, going from techno to acid via electro and back and through MUSICIAN style!!

..luckily,Party NYC's main man in the legal trenches NORMAN SIEGEL was able to make it right at the end and send some real knowledge and up to date news in the fight against the dreaded Cabaret Law...

(NOTE:anyone sampling Norman please give him credit somewhere, thanx!)

--maybe it was the complete lack of cops? or Norman's speech? but we got away with an XTRA SET by DJ CHROME--

---then it was off for us to unload and drop off gear!!!

big ups to HARLAN for bringing down his Emerald Portal design and helping so much with the sound!

and to the tables that made it : LEGALIZE DANCING NYC, DANCE PARADE, and METROPOLIS IN MOTION , DRUG POLICY ALLIANCE

..(were there others we missed?)

and to Fay and Michelle for holding down the after party!

special thanx to many....! especially those that work like crazy and don't get any glory!

ANTHONY, ROMAN, AND DANIEL
